Deputy President William Ruto on Thursday pitched a tent in Nakuru county during which he promised a bag of goodies to area residents if elected president in the August polls.
The Kenya Kwanza Alliance had staged a county economic forum in Nakuru where he and his counterparts listened to the grievances of area residents.
Responding to his running mate Rigathi Gachagua who had noted that Nakuru has always been forgotten, Ruto said Nakuru will get cabinet slots in his government.
“Nakuru will no longer be forgotten. Besides the cabinet position, my government will provide more than 40,000 job vacancies for the youth in this region,” he promised
Gachagua observed that no one from Nakuru had ever been appointed to a full ministerial position since 1963.
Ruto said members of the Kenya Kwanza Economic team would collect their ideas, suggestions and memorandums to make a charter to be signed between Nakuru Leaders and the coalition.
Ruto who is running for the presidency in the August 9 General Elections said the needs of residents will be considered when he takes over the Country's leadership.
He promised to take the country towards policy and economic growth-oriented leadership and selfish interests that intend to change the constitution and increase leadership positions.
“Those who are competing with us have embraced the politics of personalities and what will benefit a few individuals but the people in Kenya Kwanza are interested in issues and ideas that will better the lives of millions of the people of Kenya,” he said.
Ruto, who was to later address different groups in Nyandarua county, said his team profited from the ideas and views collected from the residents during the economic forum.
He reiterated his promise of uniting Kenyans regardless of their ethnicity, colour, religion or region of origin.
“Politics of corruption, deceit and hate is dragging the country behind. Development policies cannot be pushed in a country where the public does not have confidence in its leaders,” said the DP.
Others present were Amani National Congress leader, Musalia Mudavadi, his Ford Kenya Counterpart, Moses Watangula and Maendeleo Chap Chap's Alfred Mutua and a host of MPs affiliated to Kenya Kwanza.
