Trans Nzoia Governor Patrick Khaemba has denied that he is in the race for the Kiminini parliamentary seat

"Did you ever see me make a declaration that I was in the race for either senate or MP? Those are just creations of the media,” Khaemba said.

Speaking in Kitale National polytechnic during the county consultation forum, Khaemba said he has never had such ambitions.

Pushed by the press to clear the air on whom he was supporting for the Presidency, Khaemba said: "I have all the constitutional rights to choose between those vying for the presidency".

He said Kenyans were not fools to pick a leader who is surrounded by political power brokers behaving like demi-gods.

"I will be making an informed decision based on a leader who is easily accessible to people. We want a leader who understands the needs of the people," he said.

The county boss said he attended UDA national delegates conference because his Ford Kenya party is in a coalition with the deputy president William Ruto-led outfit.

“My focus henceforth is to ensure that the people of this county elect a person with a proven track record, someone who understands the needs of the people and not being pushed by political power brokers," he said.

On the county race, he said: "For now I’m not supporting any of the top two gubernatorial contenders, that are Kiminini MP Chris wamalwa and former rift valley regional coordinator George Natembeya. Let each sell their policies to the people and allow voters to make informed decisions at the ballot".
