The stadium will have Athletics Kenya-approved grass-covered pitch for all sporting activities.

According to City Board planner Robert Kiprono, all the necessary requirements will be put into place to ensure the safety of the stadium.

“We will work closely with Athletics Kenya and the contractor in laying the tartan track to ensure it conforms to the international standards,” Kiprono said.

Upon completion, the new stadium will have an all-weather running track, six changing rooms, two VIP stands, main stands, and six media rooms.

In addition, the stadium will have several jogging lanes, eight entry gates, and four exit gates, six ramps to cater to the disabled, additional toilets, offices, and four accommodation units for the management team of the stadium.

It will also have a swimming pool and an indoor arena with a seating capacity of between 2,000 and 3,000 people.
