The three murdered children of Eldoret MCA aspirant James Ratemo were on Friday buried in Nyacheki, Kisii county.
Residents and leaders who attended the burial called for speedy investigations into the heinous murder.
Tears flowed as family and friends viewed the remains of Clifford (seven), Taya (five) and Glen (three).
The bodies of the children were retrieved from the River Nzoia on May 18. Postmortems revealed the children were strangled before their bodies were dumped in the river.
On Friday, Kisii senator aspirant James Magara condemned the killing, saying police should move fast and bring the culprits to book.
“I am unable to control my tears because of the violent killing of the children. I urge the investigators to move with speed and unearth the motive behind the saddening incident that has robbed the family of three innocent children,” he said.
Woman representative hopeful Dorice Aburi said, “Whoever is behind the killing should have asked for a chicken to slaughter, instead of killing the children.”
On Thursday, Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno led mourners in calling for thorough investigations into the killings. The children’s uncle, Enock Onsanze, has been termed the prime suspect.
A team of CID officers from the special crimes unit have intensified a search for suspects.
The officers are focusing the search mainly in Eldoret, Trans Nzoia, Kakamega and Bungoma counties.

Police are combing urban areas and villages in the region to trace the suspects.
