Kapsabet Boys shines in 2014 KCSE

Kapsabet Boys High School in Nandi once again emerged one of the top institutions in last year's KCSE, posting a mean score of 11.25.

In the neighbouring Kapsabet Girls, it was celebration as the school posted a mean score of 10.37, a remarkable improvement from the 2013 results.

Kapsabet Boys principal Kipchumba Maiyo and his Kapsabet Girls counterpart Susan Chelanga described the candidates as heroes and heroines.

Normal operations at Kapsabet town were interrupted as students poured into the town to celebrate the results on Tuesday.

Maiyo said 94 candidates scored straight As, 108 A-, 31 B+, 13 B and two B-.

He said all the 248 candidates have qualified to join university.

In Kapsabet Girls, 22 candidates scored A, 63 A-, 76 B+, 27 B and four B-.

“We are extremely humbled by the candidates hard word and discipline, which enabled our school become one of the academic giants in Kenya,” Chelanga said.

Nandi county director of education Eliud Wanaswa said schools in the county performed better than last year.

Other schools that performed well are St Joseph’s Chepterit, Kemeloi Boys, Chepkumia Mixed and Meteitei Secondary.
