An 18-year-old boy was arrested, and two were killed as four houses were burnt in Kisumu's Nyakach sub-county Dirubi village over alleged witchcraft insult.
The suspect is said to have hit his uncle Charles Ogweno Ogola on the head after he reportedly called his father a witch. He was in the company of his father and brother.
The deceased Charles who had a slasher and a panga was overpowered and hit on the head with a wooden stick.
Charles was rushed to Nyabondo Mission Hospital and later to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital where he succumbed.
However, before the police could arrest the suspect an angry mob armed with rungus and pangas attacked the suspect home beating his father to death, burning four houses and destroying crops within the compound.
According to Eusebius Juma the senior assistant chief Siany sublocation, the suspect's father was attacked by the mob after coming from the police station where he had taken his son.
Juma noted that he had advised the father to produce his son to the police after his uncle's death.
"The in charge of the station called me that the boy had already been brought by the father and we should stop the search," he said
He noted that a few minutes later, he spoke again to the father who alerted him that he had been told people were planning to raid his home.
The assistant chief noted that the father rushed to the scene against request by the officers to stay behind and when they reached his home, they found him already dead and houses burnt within the homestead.

The body of the father has been taken to Pap Onditi morgue for preservation as his other son was also arrested for further investigation
