The Lesbians, Gays, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer community have been in the news lately after the Supreme Court ordered that they be allowed to register their association.
That decision sparked off fierce criticism from lawmakers, political leaders and the church who condemned the judges.
President William Ruto has since said he respected the decision of the court but disagreed with its determination on the matter.
Kaluma, who also condemned the development, promised to draft a bill to criminalise LGBTQ, saying those marrying people of same sex should be confined to life imprisonment.
Speaking at a church service in his constituency on Sunday, Kaluma said he had drafted the bill and urged his colleagues in the National Assembly to support it.
He also called on religious leaders to back the bill so as to the protect the institution of family and God's command on procreation.
"We call upon the church to stand firmly against forces that want to destroy families,” Kaluma said.
He said the bill will be called the Family Protection Act of Kenya if Parliament approves it.
“We have information that more than 20 gender categories have emerged like lesbians, gays, bisexual, and transgender among others. Kenya is a multi-religious country which is against the LGBTQ,” the MP said.
In the bill, Kaluma said, gender will be determined at birth. This will happen through physical observations of the genitals when a child is born.
Speaking on Sunday during a fund-drive at Anglican Church of Kenya in Homa Bay, Kaluma said another component of the bill will have gays and lesbians jailed for life.
There are currently laws that prohibit homosexuality in the country, where people who consent to same sex are jailed for seven years upon conviction.
“The people who consent to homosexuality to be jailed for life while those who force others into it face death penalty,” he added.
The lawmaker believes this will discourage people who run children's home only to take advantage of the innocence of the young ones and abuse their sexual rights.
The bill will also ensure the government pays medical bills for the victim who undergoes medical care as there will be a rehabilitation scheme to offer guidance and counselling to people aligning themselves to gay or lesbians groups.
Kaluma further said that there are people who unknowingly may be recruited to join homosexual groups.
“We will create a medical fund for those who find themselves in the groups without knowing,”the legislator said.
The bill will undergo its first reading this week just before MPs to go for a short break.
Accompanied by nominated MCA Evaline Otieno, Kaluma asked MPs to support the bill to tame LGBTQ.
