Marsabit county Deputy Governor Solomon Gubo officially closed three-day Marsabit Trade Fair show on Saturday.

"Trade Fair show promotes economic growth by providing a space for small businesses to showcase their products and services. It contributes to the overall development and prosperity of the region by attracting tourists and creating a thriving atmosphere," said Gubo.
He termed the trade fair show as a testament to the power of collaboration and the collective efforts of development partners.
"Trade Fair show would demonstrate marsabit county's potential to entrepreneurs, traders and visitors," he said.
"Your hard work , resilience and determination are the driving force behind our county's economic growth and development."
The deputy county boss said Marsabit county is blessed with rich cultural diversity, abundant natural resources and a strategic that presents endless opportunities for trade and investment.
"Through trade fair exhibition, we can harness opportunities, unlock full potential of our county and create sustainable economic growth," he said
He said Governor Mohamud Ali's led administration has always supported local businesses, fostering trade linkages and created an enabling environment for entrepreneurs to flourish.
He commended the department's dedication to providing business development services, market access facilitation and policy support.
Gubo launched five years strategic plan for the department of trade and Marsabit chamber of commerce and industry.
He thanked USAID-Kenya Livestock and Marketing system for their collaboration and funding for the development of strategic plan.
"Our collaboration with industry association, chambers of commerce , financial institutions and government agencies has been instrumental in creating ecosystem that supports the growth of businesses and enhance trade opportunities," said Gubo.
He advised farmers to use the onset of the seasonal rain to start preparing gardens for planting and plant early in order to optimise all the available water .
"The El-nino rains are expected to start and I urge all the residents living in prone areas experiencing floods to relocate to safe places."
