I will prioritise women empowerment programmes through the Affirmative Action Fund as well as improve girls’ education, Garisa woman representative JP candidate Annab Subow has said.
Subow yesterday said the majority of women, especially in rural areas, have no source of income and are among the poorest. “Our women are languishing in poverty despite government programmes to empower them. I blame our current woman representative,” she said. Subow met more than 500 people from Rer Mohamed subclan of the Samamwadhal clan which endorsed her bid.
