A 17-year-old boy has died after he was crashed by a motor vehicle at a school in Machakos County.

The Form 2 student reportedly died following the incident that happened at the school compound in Yatta subcounty on Tuesday evening.

The school's principal, Josephat Kiema, confirming the incident, said the boy was crashed by a truck that had just delivered bread to the school.

"The student was pronounced dead on arrival at a private hospital located within Kithimani Town in Yatta subcounty, where he was rushed," Kiema said.

The principal said the truck had just delivered bread to the school, and while reversing, the driver didn't know that the deceased was seated behind and ran over him.

The body was removed to Mbaku funeral home by traffic officers from Yatta police station.
