Kenya Premier League newbies Murang’a Seal have appointed veteran tactician Juma Abdallah as the team's head coach.

Seal announced the appointment of Abdallah through a statement on their social handles welcoming him to the club.

“The club wishes to confirm the appointment of Mr. Juma Abdallah as our new head coach. Welcome home coach Abdallah,” the statement read.

Abdallah has vast coaching experience having tutored Thika United, KCB, Bidco, Chemelil and Vihiga Bullets.

At some point, he was an assistant coach at 13-time KPL champions AFC Leopards.

Juma takes over from Dennis Okoth who was appointed on an interim basis after the departure of Gabriel Njoroge following a string of poor results.

According to a statement released by the club, the decision to part ways with the coach was on mutual consent.

“We have parted ways with Gabriel ‘Kingi’ Njoroge as head coach on mutual consent. Dennis Okoth is at the helm on an interim basis,” the statement read.

During his tenure, Njoroge oversaw 15 games securing six wins, four draws, and five losses. The team currently sits 10th in the log with 24 points.

The team under his stewardship had once occupied the top two positions in the league before a gradual town turn in form.

Njoroge’s coaching career has seen him take charge of the Kenya U-17, Mathare Youth, Mathare United, Nairobi City Stars and Thika United.

Seal's next game will be against Posta Rangers on Sunday at the Machakos Stadium.

Fifth-placed Rangers have opened a five-point gap against Seal.
