Kitui prosecutor commits suicide in his house

Kitui public prosecution counsel Kelvin Gesire was found dead in his house at an estate in Kitui town on Tuesday morning.

He was stationed at the Kitui county Directorate of Public Prosecutions offices.

The Kitui central sub-county police commander Chrispus Ogutu confirmed that the lifeless body of the state prosecutor was discovered dangling in the bathroom of his house at 11 am on Tuesday morning.

Ogutu said it was a suspected case of suicide.

He was found naked and police say he used a belt to hang himself.

The body of the 34-year-old man was taken to the privately-owned Tribute Funeral home as investigations into the matter continue.
