Sophia Wanuna appointed deputy communications head at JSC

Media Personality Sophia  Wanuna has joined the Judicial Service Commission as the Deputy Head of the Directorate of Public Affairs and Corporate Communication. 

The Judicial Service Commission said Wanuna's appointment took effect on April 29. 

Wanuna in a statement on Twitter welcomed the appointment even as she expressed gratitude to her colleagues whom she worked with in the media industry.

" As  I celebrate my birthday today, my heart is full. I appreciate all the wonderful colleagues I had the privilege to work with as a journalist," Wanuna said. 

"For the hundreds that I hosted on TV, asanteni sana. A New Chapter now begins," Wanuna said. 

Wanuna is a seasoned communication professional with 15 years of experience.

By the time she was leaving KTN News, she had risen ranks to the position of Deputy Managing Editor. She left KTN in April.

The Judicial Service Commission noted that her experience will be invaluable in her new role.

"She brings a wealth of experience from the media as an established journalist and newsroom  manager," the JSC  said. 

Wanuna began her career at KBC in 2008 and later joined K24 in 2010. 

The following year, Wanuna moved to Standard Group as a reporter for KTN news.

Wanuna holds a Bachelors degree in Communication in Public Relations from Daystar University.
