Siaya Governor James Orengo has officially opened the Migwena Community Sports and Cultural Festival 2022.
The county festival, which was opened on Thursday, is aimed at promoting and showcasing the residents' culture.

"Wanyiso tuke, kitwa kod timbewa mondo okel dongruok ne ogandawa," Orengo said.
This is loosely translated to, "We are displaying our tradition to people to bring development."
The governor also attended the annual boat racing competition in Luanda Kotieno beach in South Uyoma ward, Rarieda.

"The blue economy is a priority for our government and we will make good use of our water bodies appropriately to improve the livelihoods of our people," he said in a statement.
