Staff in a government agency under the Health ministry are having a tough time with their biased boss. So serious is the situation that some employees are on a go-slow. They accuse their condescending boss of favouring his tribespeople in promotions. Some junior officers are said to be promoted four scales above their job grades, becoming the bosses of those who either trained or supervised them. If not favouring his people at work, the man is rarely in office. Most of the time he’s busy demanding kickbacks before he authorises the release of money. The man is said to boast of protection from the mighty and powerful in government. That's because part of the  loot he solicits goes towards enhancing the campaign kitty of an individual aspiring for high office in the August polls. A first-term MP from Nyanza is crying foul and blaming some local administrators, a group of his security guards and a girlfriend for breaking into his car and stealing Sh500,000. The money was allegedly meant for chiefs and their assistants whom he was meeting at a hotel in his constituency. The MP had been meeting the administrators to woo them to his camp. A little bird whispers to Corridors that the legislator is now planning to ensure some chiefs and assistants are arrested and forced to refund the money. The Hillary Mutyambai-led police service has already nabbed some of his guards who worked with his girlfriend to execute the theft.

The silent war raging between a governor from Mt Kenya and his deputy is about to explode. A little bird tells Corridors  the deputy governor is preparing to release details of the mismanagement of public funds by the county boss in coming weeks. Differences between the two go back to mid last year when the deputy governor announced that he would vie for a different political office. Since then, the deputy governor has been selling his candidature at every public meeting. The governor is not amused and feels his deputy is using public office to pursue personal ambitions.

A governor from Western Kenya who declared support for a presidential aspirant has surprised his supporters with his recent badmouthing of the very State House hopeful he was backing. The county boss abandoned his preferred aspirant unceremoniously and without notice. He is said to be eyeing a parliamentary seat when his term expires and has been a no show at the presidential hopeful’s campaigns. Recently, when the presidential aspirant visited his county, the governor was nowhere near the big man. His absence from political rallies fuelled speculation among residents over why the two former buddies parted ways.
