A teacher in Vihiga has committed suicide.
County commander Hassan Barua said Daniel Ingolo of Hobunaka Boys Secondary School in Luanda took his life. He was depressed after being divorced for 40 years.
The depression took a turn for the worse because he was about to retire.
“The people around said the teacher bought petrol and went to his house. He closed the house. Then suddenly, there was fire. Everything burnt to ashes,” Barua said.
Barua said they are investigating the death and will forward the file to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions for further advice.
The body was taken to Coptic Nursing Home
The school administration declined to comment. Managers said the matter is in the investigators' hands.
The incidence occurred in the evening in the school compound.
