Nairobi residents to experience water shortage from Monday

Parts of the city will have reduced water supply all-week due to rehabilitation works at the Sasumua-Kabete water transmission pipeline in Aberdare forest.

The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company announced on Sunday that the maintenance and rehabilitation works starts today at 6.00am to Saturday March 19 at 6.00pm.

The statement sent to newsrooms said that “there will be partial interruption of water supply.”

The exercise shall enhance water supply to the city, read the statement.

Residents are requested to use their storage water sparingly.

Affected areas are along Waiyaki Way, Naivasha road, Kangemi, Lavington, Westlands, Parklands, MP Shah Hospital, Agha Khan Hospital, ILRI, Upper hill and Kilimani.

Also to be affected are Nairobi Hospital, Kenyatta National Hospiyal, Community, University of Nairobi main campus hall of residence, Upper and Lower Kabete Campus and Nairobi's and Kenyatta Universalities parkland campuses.

Other areas that will be affected include estates around Kenyatta market, Kibera Ngando, Riruta Satellite, Dagoretti Corner, Kawangware, Langata, Madaraka, Mbagathi and Ngong road and Karen.
