A cleric in Kwale has praised President Uhuru Kenyatta's stand on gay issues on Saturday during a joint press conference with US President Barack Obama.

Uhuru urged the US to respect the will of Kenyan society, which rejects same-sex marriages.

“Will people think about what they will eat and how their children will remain in school, or will they will waste time thinking about being gay?" Bishop Wilber Gogo of Gospel Revival Center said.

He was addressing his congregation yesterday.

Uhuru said Kenya shares a lot of things with the US but gay issues are not among them.
