Uasin county director of enforcement Cosmas Kerich has been charged with threatening to kill a magistrate before a court in Eldoret.
Kerich is accused of threatening to kill Principal Magistrate Emily Kigen on October 17th last year.
He allegedly committed the offence at Eldoret Municipality Court No 6 within the Turbo sub-county.
He is alleged to have uttered the words 'wewe mwanamke toka hapa tutakuua'.
Kerich denied the charges when he appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate Christine Menya.
He was remanded in custody until March 24th when his application for the bond will be determined.
Magistrate Kigen is represented by lawyer Geoffrey Okara whIle Kerich is represented by Elijah Momanyi.
Okara opposed the bail application by the suspect on the grounds that the life of the magistrate was at risk.
