The Eucalyptus Tree- What you need to know

Kenya Forestry Research Institute CEO Dr Joshua Cheboiwo told the Star on Thursday that the move is not grounded in any scientific evidence but speculation.

“Decisions in the country are either political or scientific. Kenya Forest Service and Kefri have done guidelines on the planting of eucalyptus. We reached a compromise that eucalyptus should not be planted in wetlands and riverine,” he said.

Cheboiwo said the push to ban the tree is not new.
