Retired Kenya Defence Forces personnel on Thursday were treated to a medical camp at the Laikipia Air Base, Nanyuki even as its members wished them well.
The exercise targeted retired KDF personnel and their families residing in the Mt. Kenya region and beyond, plus active service personnel.
Laikipia Air Base Commander Brigadier Mahmoud Farah expressed his appreciation to the members for their dedicated service to the nation in their active years and afterward.
"Maintain a healthy lifestyle in order to remain productive in the society as majority of the ailments are as a result of ageing and reduced activity," he said.
"Nevertheless, if and when challenges arise, maintain a positive attitude of the fighters that you are and strive to conquer them."
Speaking during the event, retired Major General Peter Waweru conveyed his sincere gratitude to the KDF for taking care of its personnel after service.
Also in attendance during the exercise were Deputy Laikipia Air Base Commander, Colonel Hillary Kipkirui, Deputy Managing Director DEFMIS, Colonel Esther Mandila, Senior Officers, Officers, Service Members and DEFMIS beneficiaries.
