“I am very excited to once again represent my country and compete against the best in the region,” said Okutoyi. 

In a breathtaking display of her prowess, Okutoyi secured an impressive 6/0, 6/0 victory against Emaan Amin from Egypt. 

The one-sided affair was a testament to Okutoyi's dominance on the court and her unyielding determination to maintain her position as the queen of Kenyan tennis.

Reflecting on her recent triumph at the W15 Monastir championship, Okutoyi expressed her aspiration to achieve the same feat in the Kenya Open.

“The Monastir championship is known for its fierce competition and high-caliber players and it definitely left a lasting impression on me,” said Okutoyi, who is ranked 930th worldwide.

However, it wasn't just Okutoyi that shone in this riveting tennis spectacle as her twin sister, Roselida Asumwa, displayed her own mettle by securing a convincing 6/0, 6/2 win against Rose Wanjala. 

Fifteen-year-old Stacy Yego delivered a commanding performance, emerging victorious with a scoreline of 6/0, 6/1 against Sherryl Otieno. 

Meanwhile, in the boys' category, Keean Shah battled his way to a 6/0, 6/4 triumph against Sahib Chana.

Okutoyi summed up her emotions with a sense of fulfillment, expressing her delight at being able to play in a tournament on her home turf.
