The curtains come down on the 15s club season with the Enterprise Cup final pitting holders Kabras and KCB on Saturday at the RFUEA Ground.

This will be the fourth final between the two giants in the oldest domestic cup competition in the country.

Their first meeting in 2017 saw the bankers retain that year’s title with a 27-23 win.

Kabras won the 2022 final 9-6 before registering a 30-27 victory in 2023.

A win for Kabras will see them bag their fourth title while KCB are looking for their first title since 2017 and their sixth overall.

The sugarmillers have made three changes to the side which dispatched Nondies 54-8 in the semifinal at the Kakamega Showground last weekend.

There have been notable changes in the front row with Ephraim Oduor shifting to tighthead while Edward Mwaura starts as Hillary Mwanjilwa misses out. Eugene Sifuna retains his place as the hooker.

Patrick Lumumba steps in to partner with Clinton Litali, replacing Hillary Odhiambo in the second row.

The back row of George Nyambua, William Mwanji and Jeanson Misoga remains unchanged.

The final change comes in the backline as Kenya Under-20 flyhalf Eric Cantona starting at fullback in place of Jackson Siketa.

The rest of the backline remains unchanged with the South African Ntbaeni Dukisa, Walter Okoth and Barry Robinson the key actors.

Head coach Carlos Katywa expects a competitive and tough final.
"Our matches are always close. We had a good outing against Nondies where we looked good but we can still improve,” said Katywa.

KCB will be keen to finish the season with a trophy having played second fiddle to Kabras in the past three seasons in both the Kenya Cup and Enterprise Cup.

When the two teams last met in April's Kenya Cup final, Kabras thrashed the Thika Road-based side 29-5 and long-serving forward Martin Owilah is confident of a different outcome this time round.

"We are ready for Kabras. They are a team that we know well and I am sure the combination of both experienced and young players will be vital in our quest for the trophy," said Owilah.

"We have won this Cup a record five times and a sixth is on the horizon. I am urging our supporters to show up in large numbers at RFUEA as we aim to make history."

KCB’s defence will be bolstered by the experienced Darwin Mukidza at  fullback, alongside Elvis Namusasi, who was instrumental in the team’s victory over Kenya Harlequins.

Emmanuel Silungi and teenage sensation Andy Cole Omolo will partner at locks while the explosive Bob ‘Juggernaut’ Muhati leads the middle pack.

Others are Griffin Musila, Felix Ojoo, Festus Shiasi, Jacob Ojee, Levy Amunga, Emmanuel Opondo, Michael Wanjala and youngster Michael Wamalwa. KCB defeated Quins 32-18 in the semifinal.
