Kenya Sevens team, Shujaa, bounced back strongly from their defeat to Australia on Friday to hand Canada a 24-5 drubbing as the Seville Sevens entered its second day on Saturday.
Phil Berna stunned Kenya with an unconverted try and a 5-0 lead. But Innocent Simiyu charges regrouped and restored parity when Herman Humwa crashed over before Tony Omondi added the extras for a 7-5 lead.
Alvin Otieno then sidestepped the Canadian defence to score at the corner for a try, effectively firing Kenya to A 12-5 lead at the interval.
On resumption, Vincent Onyala and Tony Omondi scored a try each to end any Canadian resistance.
Shujaa next face Scotland at 4:13 in a must-win match to progress to the Main Cup quarters
