Muigua, who lost the title to Kenya One, Michael Karanga at the Club Championships, last year, said he will be going for the crown after missing it at home.

“This time, I want to try my best and win. Last year, I lost in the finals but I have since rectified my mistakes ahead of next week’s event,” said Muigua.

The Kiambu player has been paired with N. Mburu on June 15 while Karanga will face off with S. Maina in an event that has attracted 32 golfers.

The winners will move to the second round on June 30 with the third round/quarter finals scheduled for July 10. The semifinals will be played on July 20 and the Grand Finale is on July 31.

Muigua, who is the series leader, tops the log with 346 points with Kenya Railways and Team Kenya captain John Lejirma second on 323 points. Karanga is third with 194 points. “My training is going well and I am sure I will be better than today just before the event,” said Muigua.

Muigua won the opening round of Sigona Bowl and followed it up with the Great Rift Valley and Windsor Classic before winning his fourth title at the Winston Churchill at Thika Greens.

Karanga has recorded one win in the KAGC Series after defending the Coronation Trophy title over the weekend in Nakuru. Elsewhere, Kitale Golf Club will stage the Kingdom Bank tournament in Trans Nzoia County.
