Kisii Club receives state-of-the-art greens mower from SGSK

Kisii Club received a new greens mower courtesy of SGSK and Kenya Golfing Society.

Kisii Sports Club is the latest to benefit from the Senior Golfers Society of Kenya, which is seeking to improve the standards of courses in Kenya.

Kisii Club received a new greens mower courtesy of  SGSK and Kenya Golfing Society. 

Other beneficiaries of the same are Kisumu, Kakamega, Malindi, Nakuru, Nyahururu and Machakos among others.

 “We visit clubs around the country and support them as our way of giving back to society. Our objective is to improve the golf course and the game of golf in Kenya. We want golfers to enjoy the game,” said SGSK captain David Mogere. 

Mogere is a former Kenya Golf Union (KGU) and Junior Golf Foundation (JGF) chairman.

Present during the function were the society’s chief senior Alistair Campbell, President Maina Ruo, and Treasurer Ninish Shah. Asepsis Limited director Peter Mwangi also graced the occasion.

Kisii Sports Club chairman Wycliffe Ayienda, secretary Lawrence Nyangena and golf captain Adrian Monari received the green mower on behalf of the club.

“Going forward, golfers will enjoy even better greens. We have the best fairways in the region and Kisii will be the place to be if you want to enjoy golf,” said Monari.

Ayienda hailed the society for donating the machine. “This is the first time we have such a state-of-the-art machine. The management and the entire membership of Kisii Sports Club are grateful for this wonderful gesture and we endeavour to ensure the machine is put to good use," Ayienda said.

He added: "We shall embark on improving our course ahead of several corporate-sponsored golf tournaments lined up for the remaining part of the year,” said Ayienda.

A week ago, Bayer East Africa through Round Up @50 sponsored a major golf tournament which attracted more than 100 golfers from across the country. Joseph Ogweche won the tournament
