Samani tops US Kids Golf Tour at Thika Sports Club

Ishan Samani emerged victorious at the fifth leg of the US Kids Golf Spring Local Tour played over the weekend at the Thika Sports Club.

Samani won the boys' category in a tournament that attracted 140 junior golfers aged between five and 18 and played over 18 holes.

Kushagra Sharma was second with a shot more on 89 gross while Kiunjuri Mathu finished third on 90 gross.

Shashwat Harish won the 13-14-year-old category, sinking 76 gross, followed by Tsevi Soni (80 gross) and Ronan Patel (84 gross).

In the 12-year-old age group, Andrew Gathere took top spot with 74 gross followed by Tsorav Soni (76 gross) and Justin Ngeera (81 gross).

Amar Shah starred in the 11-year-old age group, winning the title on 73 gross, followed by Shay Chauhan ( 86 gross)  and Alpha Ndungu (91 gross).

In the younger boys' categories for those who played 9 holes,

Gitonga Gitobu won with 39 gross in the 10-year-old category, played over nine holes, while Adam Nesbitt emerged the winner with 41 gross in the nine-year-old age group.

Jeff Kibe won the eight-year-old age group with 43 gross, Ivan Kipyegon Kimutai finished top among the seven-year-olds with 41 gross while Trevvy Mungai was the winner in the six years and under with 41 gross.

In the girls' categories for those who played 18 holes,

Antonia Mbuthia beat Cherise Wachira on countback in the girls' 15-18-year-old category after both scored 93 gross over 18 holes. Hazel Kuria finished third on 104 gross.

In the 13-14-year-old age group, Navya Nagda and Cherono Kipkorir scored 87 gross each but Nagda was declared the winner on countback. Yolanda Yu emerged third with 93 gross.

Marya Nyambura emerged top among the 11-12-year-olds with 88 gross, followed by Sophia Nesbitt with 93 gross and Jewel Kaisha with 94 gross.
