Patel, Mbuthia win respective categories at U.S. Kids event

•The girls' 15-18 years category saw Antonia Mbuthia of Muthaiga rule supreme with a score of 99 gross.

•Trevvy Mungai shone in the boys’ six years and under with a score of 48 while Aarna Mengi emerged best in the girls 8 years and under having with a 44 gross score.

Vetlab’s Ishan Patel scored a gross score of 93 to win the boys’ 15-18 years category during the first event of the U.S. Kids-NCBA Nairobi Local Tour.

The girls 15-18 years category saw Antonia Mbuthia of Muthaiga rule supreme with a score of 99 gross.

Trevvy Mungai shone in the boys’ six years and under with a score of 48 while Aarna Mengi emerged best in the girls' 8 years and under having with a 44 gross score.

The best score of the day was played by Royal Nairobi’s Mwathi Gicheru who shot a wonderful 1 under par 72, winning in the boys' 11-years category. The 12-year-old Kristen Maina had a hole-in-one in the par 3 hole 4.

The tour is organized by the U.S. Kids Golf Foundation and the Junior Golf Foundation (JGF) and is sponsored by NCBA Bank.

The Local Tour consists of 8 events to run until January 22 when the Tour Championship will be held at Muthaiga Golf Club. 

The next event in the tour will be held at Windsor Golf & Country Club on Sunday.
