Barely a month to the 2025/2026 Kenyan Premier League kick-off, Tusker FC have parted ways with one of their top assets in striker Ryan Wesley Ogam.

The Kenyan international has agreed to join Wolfsberger AC for an undisclosed period of time. Sources close to the striker indicate that terms and conditions have been agreed, though the financial details remain undisclosed.

Moroccan giants Raja Club Athletic and record KPL champions Gor Mahia had also shown interest in Ogam’s signature.

Raja had sent scouts who expressed interest in a possible switch to the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca, but the Central Europe side tabled a better deal.

K’Ogallo assistant patron Eliud Owalo had also met Ogam’s parents, David Rabuok and Edith Rabuok, in his office on August 14, 2025, for talks on Ogam’s switch from the Brewers to the Green Army.

Ogam’s father, Rabuok, played for Gor Mahia in 2008 and was expected to persuade his son to join K’Ogallo.

Ogam, 21, joined the Ruaraka side from Dubai-based club Elite Falcons in the United Arab Emirates Third Division and has always dreamt of making a European move.

The former Rainbow FC striker scored an impressive 15 goals in the first leg of his maiden KPL season and was central to Tusker’s title push.

His good form saw Algerian giants USM Alger show interest in his signature, but a knee injury in January 2025 saw the move abort.

Ogam underwent a minor procedure for a meniscus tear and returned on April 24, 2025, but only managed one goal for a total of 16 goals, as former Kakamega Homeboyz striker Moses Shumah clinched the golden boot with 17 goals before switching to Zambian side Power Dynamos FC.

Ogam scored two goals in the CHAN Group A matches against Zambia and Morocco and won Man of the Match against the latter before Kenya’s elimination in the quarterfinal stages by Madagascar.

Speaking during a post-match press conference, McCarthy praised the star for his goal-poaching skills and tipped him to go places.

“Ryan is important to the team; he probably will be playing alongside internationals in the future, because I believe he still hasn’t reached his full potential. He can probably be the next Michael Olunga one day,” said the South African tactician.

Ex-Harambee Stars goalkeeper Arnold Origi, who is Ogam’s godfather, challenged him to conquer the world in the next phase of his career.

“You have eliminated all doubts and proven that you have what it takes to conquer the world. Maintain your discipline and focus on football and let your work rate do the talking,” said Origi in a social media post accompanied by Ogam’s photo.
