Kibera Soccer Women striker Faith Mboya is staying grounded despite interest from top Kenyan and Tanzanian clubs.

The promising forward said she is weighing her next move after a standout second-leg performance in the 2024/25 Women’s Premier League.

“Right now, I’m just happy with how things turned out. If a good offer comes, I’ll be ready to begin a new chapter,” she said.

Having joined the club from National Super League outfit Sunderland Samba mid-season, the 20-year-old made an immediate impact, helping Kibera lift the FKF Women’s Cup and finish second in the league.

Her 15-goal haul saw her finish just one shy of the Golden Boot winner, Rebecca Okwaro of Kenya Police Bullets.

Catherine Khaemba finished third with 13 goals. Khaemba had a superb first leg of the campaign before injuries stalled her quest.

“Playing for Harambee Starlets has opened opportunities. It’s true I’ve received several offers from Tanzania,” Mboya said.

She believes her numbers could have been even more impressive had she joined earlier.

“I’m grateful to my club for giving me the chance to showcase my prowess. It was my debut season but everything went well,” she said.

“I had set a target of 20 goals for myself and I’m fully motivated to win the Golden Boot in the near future.”

Kibera’s run to Cup success was largely driven by Mboya’s consistency in front of goal, with her pace and movement troubling defenders.
