Gor Mahia midfielder Enock Morrison has said they will push above their weight to garnish their trophy cabinet with the Football Kenya Federation Cup this season.

Sunday looms, a gladiatorial contest in the arena of Dandora Stadium, Nairobi, where Gor Mahia, the Kenyan behemoth, faces Murang'a Seal in the nation's second-biggest football showpiece.

The K'Ogalo Ghanaian midfield maestro spoke of sharpened talons and a hunger for victory. His words, laced with the confidence of a seasoned warrior, paint a picture of meticulous preparation.

"We know what is ahead of us, so we will try our best to win the Cup. The club's storied past has established a high benchmark for success, and the fans' unwavering support fuels the players' ambitions, " Morrison said.

"We need to work as a team always and correct our mistakes and that is what we've done," Morrison said.

Morrison said they have smoothed out the rough edges that resulted in a scoreless draw against Seal in a Kenyan Premier League match last Sunday.

"We want to win the game on Sunday and bring back the motivation to our fans," he said.

Seasoned midfielder Lawrence Juma echoed Morrison's sentiment, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and the ability to learn from past encounters.

Juma said Sunday's game is a clean slate, a chance to rewrite the narrative, to etch their name into the annals of Gor Mahia's illustrious history.

Juma said as the team gears up for the semifinal, the players understand that the outcome will not only reflect their individual capabilities but also their collective spirit.

"We are meeting them for the second time in a week. Our last game was not easy but we learned a few things that will enable us to collect the crucial win," he said.

The scoreless draw against Seal last Sunday serves not as a setback, but as a lesson learned, a blueprint for tactical refinement.

The ability to compartmentalise previous setbacks and channel that energy into a positive performance is a hallmark of great teams, he said.

"What has happened to us in the past is now water under the bridge. We are focusing on Sunday's game and we are determined to make amends to our past mistakes," Juma said.

Juma said the tactical chess match promises to be captivating, adding that the previous encounter provided invaluable intel, a roadmap to victory.

"Gor Mahia's coaching staff, undoubtedly, has dissected Murang'a Seal's strategy, identifying vulnerabilities and opportunities," he said.

He emphasised that the Green Army is on the hunt, and the trophy cabinet awaits.
