A former government official recently handed a top parastatal job is causing chaos at the agency. He is demanding that the management allocates him an official vehicle, a driver and a bodyguard. Over and above, the politician allegedly wants a dedicated office for him within the building to effectively serve the people. This is against the 'Mwongozo' rules that insist on chairpersons of state agencies working part-time. The institution's management has become adamant and wants the chairperson to follow the law. However, the powerful politician has threatened to engineer the CEO's ouster if his demands are not met.
