President William Ruto will be in Murang'a today to launch various development projects.

Ruto who will be accompanied by his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua will commence his tour by launching the last mile connectivity at Marewa.

He will later preside over the launch of Kambirwa market and Mitarwakwa-Ha Paulo-Mbari Ya Hiti-Gitiri-Kahithe-Gatuya road.

In the afternoon, Ruto will address the residents at Kahuro town.

The Head of State was last in the county in May this year for a tree planting exercise.

AG nominee vetting

The Committee on Appointments chaired by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula will today grill the Attorney General nominee Dorcas Odour and EAC Affairs Cabinet Secretary nominee Beatrice Askul.

The nomination of the two is contained in a notice dated July 30 issued by Head of Public Service Felix Koskei.

The exercise will be held at the County Hall.

National Water Strategic Plan

Irrigation Principal Secretary Ephantus Kimotho will preside over a stakeholder forum on National Water Harvesting and Storage Authority's strategic plan.

The Authority has realigned the plan to the emerging government policies and directives in line with the revised guidelines for preparation of fifth-generation strategic plans, 2023 – 2027.

It is also based on the constitution, Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), Kenya Vision 2030 and Fourth Medium Term Plan (MTP IV).

It will be held at the Utalii hotel.

Classification of ethnic communities

The Senate Committee on National Cohesion is scheduled to hold a meeting with representatives from the Ministry of Gender, Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) and the University of Nairobi's Department of Linguistics to deliberate on the classification of ethnic communities in Kenya.

Muchai murder case

A Nairobi Court will today hear the case in which seven people are charged with violently robbing two women before allegedly murdering late Kabete MP George Muchai.

Olympic games

Beatrice Chepkemoi will today lead her compatriots Lilian Rengeruk and Margaret Kipkemboi in the 10,000m final.
