United States International University coach David Maina is worried as they face fellow students Africa Nazarene University Wolfpacks and University of Nairobi Terrorists this weekend.
Maina said they have not trained well for the encounters but insists they will still give their best.
“I am ready for the two games despite not having trained well due to the rains experienced in the evenings along Thika Road,” said Maina.
Besides the weather, the tactician said he will also have to miss the services of two of his players, who have been unwell for the last three days.
Tigers, the league’s surprise package, are third on the log and target a first national title.
ANU are a wounded lot after going down 74-51 to league leaders Nairobi City Thunder in their backyard on Monday. They will come out guns blazing.
The women’s side, ANU Panthers, will find it rough against Equity Bank Hawks, whose coach, Ben Oluoch, has eyes on the playoffs.
UoN Dynamites coach Eugene Genga hopes his quiet side will, for once, explode in their match against the Flames.
“We are pushing hard to finish in the top four even though some of the remaining games can be tricky. We will see how it goes,” said Flames’ George Mayienga.
Zetech University Sparks, who are on course for another strong finish, will be in North Rift to battle Eldonets.
The following day, UoN Dynamites will tackle Barbra Diana-led Storms in their second game of the weekend as ANU play Flames. Hawks face Jkuat Lynx.
