Gor Mahia’s operations manager Jolawi Obondo says they will not put their foot off the pedal despite a 10-point lead at the top of the Kenyan Premier League standings.

The champions face Kenya Police at the Police Sacco Stadium on Saturday and Obondo warns there is a long way to go in their quest for a 21st national title.

The last meeting between the two was in the 2022/23 season which ended in a 1-0 victory in favour of K’Ogalo and courtesy of Austine Odhiambo's strike.

“Everybody in the team knows the league is not yet over. We are not going to sit on those 10 points. We will continue working until the final whistle," said Obondo.

"We can’t be overconfident. In football, you don’t take things for granted. You have seen what is happening at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations."

The match is just like any other, where three points are the end game," he concluded.

Meanwhile, Secretary General Sam Ocholla hit at the Football Kenya Federation for 'allowing' Police to set the prohibitive charges.

Gor Mahia fans, the Green Army, also suffered a drawback after Police, the home team, accorded them just 500 expensive tickets.

They have 50 VVIP tickets selling at Sh3000 each, 150 VIP tickets at Sh2000 each and 300 regular/terrace tickets at Sh1500 each

"It is quite a shame for a government body to charge almost tenfold the normal price. Police have to know they are playing football," said Ocholla.

"The most they would have done is double the prices," Ocholla added.

He bemoaned the lack of guidelines on the pricing of tickets, calling for a level playing field.
