Football Kenya Federation (FKF) have threatened to sanction Shabana over the behavior of their fans during FKF Premier League matches.

FKF Premier League manager, Mike Kamure, has written to the club’s chairman Jared Nivaton, noting that the safety and security department had reported fans’ misbehaviour during games.

“There have been instances by a section of your fans throwing objects and invading the pitch during celebrations which is both dangerous and disruptive to the game,” Kamure said in his letter.

He added: “We would like to remind you that the actions of your fans reflect upon the club and the league at large and it is the responsibility of the club’s management to ensure fans conduct themselves in a respective and sportsmanlike manner.”

Kamure asked the club to take immediate action to address the issue and prevent any re-occurrence in their future matches.

Kamure noted that any further instances of such behaviors will result in severe consequences including imposition of fines on the club, playing matches behind closed doors, and deduction of points.

Kamure told the club to take the matter seriously and address it promptly. “We value the spirit of fair play and we expect all clubs to uphold these principles,” he noted.

However, Kamure acknowledged and appreciated the club’s incredible mobilization of fans and the hype they have brought to the league since they were promoted.

“Your passionate supporters have undoubtedly added an electrifying atmosphere to matches making them more exciting,” noted Kamure.
