On Tuesday, President William Ruto officially inaugurated the Maasai Cultural Week in Sekenani, Narok County. 

During his interactions at the ceremony, the head of state donned the Maasai traditional attire, in full gear. 

Ruto's attire was accompanied by the traditional rod, the well-made accessories, that he wore on his neck, around the waist and arm. 

The President even went on a game drive with the attire.

On Wednesday Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi followed in the footsteps of President Ruto as he was the chief guest at the event and donned their traditional Shuka. 

Just as the President, The Prime CS also wore it in full gear.

On Thursday, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua followed suit and again, donned the Maa cultural attire as he attended the festival.

He said the Maa Community culture remains distinct and impressive.

Other leaders including UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala, and Tourism Cabinet Secretary Peninah Malonza were also seen in the cultural attires. 

When he launched the festival, Ruto promised residents that the festival will from next year be elevated to national status with complete funding from the government

"It will be a celebration that would be marked and witnessed by many travelling across the world as they come to witness wildebeest migration," he said.
