Kisumu All Stars host FKF National Super League (NSL) runway leaders Shabana on Saturday, hoping to end their fine form.

Coach Andrew Aroka said they are targeting three points against Shabana. “We respect Shabana because they are currently on top of the log. They have a good record both home and away. However, we want to win the game so that we improve our position on the table,” said Aroka.

He added: “Shabana will be under pressure to continue with their winning ways but my boys are well prepared for the encounter.

Aroka said he is happy that so far he has maintained his squad.

“We have not lost any player so far. I will only sign two strikers because that’s the only department I have weaknesses in,” he said.

Shabana, under the tutelage of Sammy Okoth, lead the log with 35 points— nine better than second-placed Kibera Black Stars.

Gusii sit third on the table with 25 points same as Naivas FC but the Kisii-based side has a better goal difference.

In other matches scheduled for Saturday, SS Assad will welcome Coastal Heroes in a Coast region derby at Shamu grounds in Ukunda while Vihiga United will be at home against Naivas FC.

On Sunday, wounded Murang’a Seal and Gusii FC will collide at St Sebastian Park. Seal dropped to sixth on the log after being docked three points for abandoning their game against Shabana last weekend while Gusii FC are on a three-game winless run.

Relegation-threatened Kajiado FC will entertain second-placed Kibera Black Stars at Ildamat grounds in Kajiado county as Mully Children’s Family (MCF) at Kenyatta Stadium Machakos.

Mara Sugar and Mwatate will face off at Awendo Green Stadium as Darajani Gogo battle it out with Silibwet Leones at Camp Toyoyo.
