Vihiga Queens extended their unbeaten run to 10 matches following their 5-2 win against Kangemi Ladies in the Kenya Women's Premier League match at Mumias Sports Complex.

Queens' experienced forward Janet Moraa opened the scoring barely 12 minutes into the match with Topista Situma claiming the assist.

Fasila Adhiambo restored parity for the struggling visitors, slotting home the equaliser in the 39th minute with a sublime effort as both sides headed to the break tied at 1-1.

Vihiga emerged from the tunnel a rejuvenated side with substitute Faith Marende scoring a hat-trick. She needed only 10 minutes to score her first goal of the season for the Legacy Makers.

She made it 2-1 for the three-time national champions after finding the back of the net in the 55th minute. Situma, who grabbed a hat-trick against Bunyore Starlets last weekend in the 'Sisters derby' extended Vihiga's advantage in the 63rd minute but Adhiambo reduced the deficit to 3-2 in the 80th minute.

Marende had the final say, scoring twice in the last 10 minutes including a stoppage-time penalty to condemn Kangemi to their ninth loss of the season.

Vihiga are on course for a fourth title in five years having amassed 28 points from a possible 30. The Cecafa club champions have a seven-point cushion over second-placed Thika Queens.

Ulinzi starlets returned to winning ways by edging Kisumu All Starlets 2-1 at Moi Stadium, Kisumu. Jentrix Kuyudi claimed a brace for the soldiers to render Monica Etot's goal a mere consolation.

Meanwhile, Bunyore lost to Gaspo Women 3-2 at their Mumboha backyard.
