Vihiga Queens goalkeeper Lilian Awuor and striker Teresa Engesha could find themselves playing in Europe soon after their impressive performances at the CAF Women's Champions League in Egypt.

The duo are tipped to make a giant leap overseas after catching the eyes of the scouts who pitched-tent in Egypt to tap the creme de la creme of African talent.

Engesha was named the woman of the match after helping Vihiga register their only win, 2-0 against Morocco's AS FAR in their second Group B match at El Salam Stadium.

Despite losing 1-0 to group winners Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, indispensable shot-stopper Awuor was pivotal in maintaining a respectable scoreline.

She pulled world-class saves to be awarded the woman of the match gong.

The 23-year-old recently made her senior debut with Harambee Starlets against South Sudan's Bright Starlets in the African Women's Cup of Nations qualifier match at Nyayo Stadium.

"There's a lot of interest and the club will assess all the offers that will be tabled before making a decision," coach Boniface Nyamunyamu said.

"They have evolved over time and can take their game to the next level should they get the right clubs. I believe the club will not stand in the way of the players when the terms and conditions are favourable."

The duo were once rumoured to be on the radar of Tanzanian giants Simba Queens during the Cecafa club qualifiers but stayed put.

Engesha has had a glittering career to date. She was crowned KEFWA Player of the Year in 2019 after scoring 36 goals.

The pair helped Vihinga to three consecutive WPL titles (2017, 2018 and 2019) and were central to the team's dominance under the then coach Alex Alumira.

In addition to the fear of losing the duo, 19-year-old striker Jentrix Shikangwa could also be pro-bound after signing a representation agreement with  Bulgarian player agency, LTA, last month.
