Chances are high Kenyan champions Gor Mahia may fail to honour their match against arch-rivals AFC Leopards at Nyayo Stadium on Saturday after head coach Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo said he had not conducted any training session since their league encounter against Ulinzi Stars a week ago.

Omollo said Gor players had given training sessions a wide berth following their shock 1-0 loss to the soldiers at ASK Grounds, Nakuru on July 16. The setback saw them slip further down the standings to an unfamiliar eighth place on the standings with 38 points.

This is the first time in a decade the Kenyan champions have suffered 10 defeats in a season.

"I have not seen any of the players since our loss to Ulinzi a week ago. I wouldn't really tell if the boycott has something to do with salary arrears. Honestly, the scenario puts me in a very tight situation because the fans won't understand in case we continue with our poor run," said Omollo.

"The only solution available now would be to resort to members of the youth team."

Omollo's shocking revelations come exactly a day after first-choice custodian Gad Mathews threatened to dump the club, saying he was yet to receive his salary for the last five months. Mathews said he hadn't attended training for a while now.

Meanwhile, Gor treasurer Dolphine Odhiambo has attributed their tribulations to large amounts of money owed outside by Football Kenya Federation and Confederations of African Football.

"We are yet to receive Betway Cup prize money a month after we beat AFC Leopards in the finals," alleged Odhiambo.

"We are also yet to receive any money from Caf even after they promised to send some amount following our participation in the Champions League."

"CAF actually made an effort to disburse the amount two weeks ago but unfortunately, they got one of the characters wrong in the cheque and so there is no way we could have banked it."

"They promised to rectify the situation but again Egypt had a public holiday lasting almost a week and so we again had to wait a little longer," added Dolphine.
