Gor Mahia head coach Vaz Pinto says he will soon release a comprehensive individual work plan to keep his players fit amidst the indefinite break occasioned by a government ban on sporting activities.

Last Friday, President Uhuru Kenyatta imposed an indefinite ban on all sports activities in a bid to contain the countrywide spike in Covid-19 infections.

Following the ban, Football Kenya Federation immediately went ahead and suspended all league fixtures for the season.

However, Pinto is optimistic it won't be long before competition resumes and has therefore gone ahead to come up with measures aimed at keeping his players fit and ready for any eventuality.

“We have an elaborate individual work plan for players that is controlled and monitored by the technical team. We hope this will help in keeping them fit as we eye resumption of activities once the dust settles.

“At this point, we must observe all guidelines as stipulated by the government – in relation to Covid-19. However hard or stressful they may be, we have to respect them and comply,” noted coach Pinto.

“Stopping the league has not only physical but also emotional effects on everyone involved. The past few months have been very difficult for the clubs and everyone who works within the football circles. The pandemic has pushed things to the extreme,” he observed.
