Former Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua will on Wednesday appear before MPs in an inquiry into the government’s Sh6.09 billion buyback of Telkom Kenya.

MPs launched an inquiry into the buyback after it emerged that National Treasury overruled the Controller of Budget in the transaction.

The government paid Sh6.09 billion to acquire a 60 percent stake in Telkom Kenya from a UK-based private equity fund, just four days before last year’s General Election.

Nyanza Regional police boss Mwivanda moved 

The Nyanza Regional Police Commander Noah Mwivanda was Tuesday recalled a week after he had reported.

Mwivanda was replaced by the director of the Welfare Directorate Manasse Musyoka.

Musyoka who is a former commander for Central and Coast regions reported on Tuesday and was set to take over on Wednesday, April 5.

Kemsa speaks on drug delivery

It now takes just seven days to deliver medical supplies to the doorstep of health facilities in counties, Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (Kemsa) has said.

Kemsa Chief Executive Officer Terry Ramadhan said it used to take up to 40 days to deliver supplies in far-flung areas of the country.

President William Ruto has recognized  Rwanda for its contribution to the peace process in DRC.

Ruto is in Kigali for a two-day visit.

Policeman killed by mob in Lamu

Three people, among them a police officer, a suspected drug dealer and a civilian died on Tuesday in a bizarre incident in Kijitoni area in Lamu County.

Witnesses and police said the suspected drug dealer, Miji Aboud Mohammed, had been stopped by police officers patrolling the area.
