Kenya Ports Authority are among 10 teams that will feature in next month's 2022 FIBA Africa Women's Club Championship in Maputo, Mozambique.

According to FIBA Africa, the nine-day show will tip off in Maputo, Mozambique from December 9-17 after a two-year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The porters booked their tickets to the tournament during a FIBA Africa Zone Five show in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania last month. 

KPA finished second after going down 78-67 to Sporting Club Alexandria of Egypt in a hard-fought final. 

The region will have three teams after the Rwanda Patriotic Army (APR) of Rwanda got a wild card.

Rwanda beat compatriots Rwanda Energy Group (REG) 42-39 for third place and are headed for their first continental assignment.

 Two teams led by the host club Costa do Sol and reigning champions Ferroviario de Maputo will lead a strong Mozambican hunt for honours in the show.

Other teams are— AS Ville Dakar (Senegal), Energie BBC (Benin), Overdose Up Station (Cameroon), ASB CNSS (DR Congo) and Inter Clube de Luanda (Angola). Maputo also played host to the competition in 2016 and 2018.
