Champs Ulinzi Warriors romp into final after beating Strathmore

In the lower division, Africa Nazarene University ANU made it to the finals with a 68-66 win over KDF Morans.

Reigning champions Ulinzi Warriors beat Strathmore University Blades 94-86 in overtime to reach the Kenya Basketball Federation KBF play-off finals. 

The soldiers, who were trailing by as much as 20 points in the game, were saved in the final minute by Vincent Juma's three-pointer that locked the game 79-79 in normal time.

The extra five minutes were dominated by the Warriors who took a 15-7 lead as the students collapsed under pressure. Blades got off brightly taking a 6-0 cushion and maintained the lead as the first quarter ended 16-6. It was the same story in the second quarter as Blades were in the ascendancy, building a 40-26 difference at halftime.

Nothing much changed for the soldiers in the third quarter as Blades continued to push for a 61-50 as the horn sounded. Victor Bosire nailed 18 points and Joshua Okumu 14 for Ulinzi. For Strathmore,  Ken Dwallo managed 20 and Bramwell Chivai 16.  In the lower division, Africa Nazarene University made it to the finals with a 68-66 win over KDF Morans.
