A total of 12 teams will grace the Red Bull Half Court basketball finals at the University of Nairobi on Saturday.

The qualified men’s teams include Team Kidi, Panthers, FEBA Nation, Buccaneers, Clippers and Team SP.

The women’s category has Dynamite, Cheetahs, Lynx, Tigers, Dream Girls and Sparks.

The winners will represent Kenya at the Red Bull Half Court World Finals next year.

They will also get the once-in-a-lifetime chance to meet the world’s best 3 on 3 baller, Dušan Bulut from Serbia.

Over 300 players have competed in the four qualifiers for the past month.

National Coordinator and Vice Chairman of Kenya Basketball Federation Hilmi Ali said they were excited to come to the conclusion of the event.

“We are extremely happy and proud to have hosted this tournament in Kenya for the very first time, with such tremendous player response, especially in these challenging times," said Ali.

Fans can look forward to the National Final this Saturday where spectators and players will be immersed in streetball culture, with performances from hip-hop artists, dancers and DJs.

Over 15, 000 participants have taken part in the streetball championship worldwide.

Teams advance by winning games, but there is also a unique Red Bull twist: An “Own the Court” bonus is awarded to the team in each group that has scored the most points cumulatively across the games.
