Olympic champion Faith Kipyegon has added yet another record-breaker to her title.

Kipyegon on Friday broke the women's mile World Record at Monaco Diamond League.

She clocked 4:07.64 in the mile, destroying Sifan Hassan's four-year-old record of 4:12.33 in the women's mile.

She becomes the first woman to break 4:10 in the mile and has now broken three World Records in 2023 alone."

Other world records in her possession are the 1500m and 5000m races.

 Kipyegon earned the 1500m record at the Florence Diamond League on June 2, 2023 before smashing another one in the 5000m race in Paris a week later.

President William Ruto congratulated her for the win saying she has made Kenya proud.

"Another World record has fallen. Faith Kipyegon's peerless talent, supreme tenacity and tremendous athleticism has lit up the world again this time in the 1-Mile Monaco Grand Prix. Kenya celebrates Faith for being among the best athletes in our lifetime

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on his part said:

"Faith Kipyegon it is! Congratulations on clocking a record 4:07.64 breaking the World One Mile Record at the Monaco Diamond League.

Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen described her as an inspiration.

"Congratulations Faith Kipyegon for breaking the one-mile world record. You are a true inspiration. Keep shining !" he said.
