The 2026 Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Term Two Games received a Sh20 million sponsorship boost from KCB Group ahead of the national championships scheduled for July 28 to August 1.
Under the sponsorship deal, Sh12 million will be channelled towards the purchase of kits and trophies, as the remaining Sh8 million will support activations during the regional and national finals set to run from July 6 to August 1, 2026.
Beyond sports development, KCB said it will also use the competition as a platform to promote environmental conservation by educating students and communities on sustainable practices aimed at reducing carbon emissions and creating healthier learning environments.
Speaking during the cheque handover ceremony in Nairobi, KCB Group Chief Risk Officer Faith Basiye said the sponsorship reflects the bank’s continued commitment to nurturing young talent through sports.
“The sponsorship underscores KCB’s long-standing commitment to developing sports as a catalyst for nurturing future champions while creating opportunities for them to showcase their talent, build lifelong values and pursue excellence. As a bank, we are proud to be part of this rich legacy,” said Basiye.
The sponsorship will primarily support the national finals, which are expected to bring together top schools from all eight regions across the country. Regional competitions will begin in the Rift Valley Region at Narok High School from July 6–11, 2026.
The Nyanza and Nairobi regional finals will follow from July 7–11 at Homa Bay High School and Jamhuri High, respectively. The Coast, Eastern and Western regional finals are scheduled for July 8–11 at Kwale High School, Makueni High and Bungoma High respectively, while the Central Region finals will be staged at MPESA Academy from July 9–11.
The regional phase will conclude with the North Eastern Region finals in Tabaka, Mandera County, from July 20–22. The competition will culminate in the national finals at the MPESA Academy from July 28 to August 1, bringing the two-month-long championships to an end.
KSSSA Secretary General David Ngugi welcomed the sponsorship, terming it a major boost for school sports in the country. “The Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association appreciates KCB Bank for its continued commitment to the growth of school sports in Kenya. This sponsorship is a significant investment in our learners, providing them with an opportunity to compete, develop their talents and build values such as discipline, teamwork and resilience,” said Ngugi.
