The National Police Service is tightening its grip on Kenyan volleyball after three of its teams booked places in the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) National League quarter-finals, setting up a strong bid for championship glory.
Men's sides GSU and Kenya Police Unit (KAPU), alongside women's outfit DCI Queens, secured playoff spots following impressive campaigns during the regular season.
The achievement underlines the growing investment by the National Police Service in sports and reinforces its reputation as one of the country's emerging sporting powerhouses.
GSU led the charge after amassing 25 points to comfortably secure a place in the knockout stages.
KAPU followed with 22 points, while DCI Queens also collected 22 points to seal a top-four finish and a quarter-final berth.
The trio will now head to the Coast region for a best-of-three quarter-final series, with a place in the semi-finals and a shot at the national title at stake.
GSU heads into the playoffs among the favourites after a consistent campaign built on solid defending, effective attacking play and tactical discipline.
The former champions have once again demonstrated why they remain one of the most feared teams in Kenyan volleyball.
KAPU has also emerged as a serious title contender this season.
The team grabbed headlines earlier in the campaign when it stunned defending champions GSU in a thrilling five-set encounter, underlining its credentials as a genuine challenger for the crown.
In the women's competition, DCI Queens continue to establish themselves among the country's elite sides.
After finishing inside the top four, the team now has an opportunity to push for national honours and further cement its place among Kenya's best volleyball teams.
The National Police Service said the achievement reflects the discipline, teamwork and commitment that have become synonymous with its teams.
The service also recognised the efforts of the Administration Police men's team, which narrowly missed out on a playoff spot.
Despite falling short, the team was commended for its resilience and competitive spirit throughout the season.
Attention now shifts to the Coast region, where GSU, KAPU and DCI Queens will attempt to convert their strong regular-season performances into championship success.
