‎Kangea, who was in Siaya leading a re-inspection of facilities, said the county leadership’s commitment has laid the ground for success.  ‎His team has toured venues including Siaya National Polytechnic, Nyamira Girls, Maranda School and the Migwena Cultural and Sports Centre. ‎“We expect Siaya to host a successful event because the county leadership has been supportive since we came here,” added Kangea.
‎County employees will battle it out in football, handball, basketball, netball, squash, badminton and tug of war. ‎Other events are scrabble, netball, chess, golf, volleyball, pool, golf, table tennis, and darts.

Reigning champions Nairobi City County will look to cement their dominance, though perennial rivals Uasin Gishu and Kisumu are expected to mount a fierce challenge. ‎Kangea said they expect all 47 counties to take part.

‎“Some counties, especially from North Eastern and Eastern, which have never taken part, have shown interest in this year’s event,” noted Kangea.
‎Beyond the domestic competition, Kenya is also preparing to host the East African Local Authorities and Sports Association Games (EALASCA) later this year.
‎Kampala, Uganda, staged the last edition. ‎Kangea revealed that they have not yet decided on the host country for the 2025 edition. ‎“We have sent requests to Uasin Gishu, Bungoma, Trans Nzoia, Kericho, and Bomet to show interest in hosting the regional games. Once we settle on the host, we shall sit down and agree on the dates,” remarked the Secretary General.
